Has anyone tried running the new client on 10.4.11? I can't afford to spend $158 ( link ) on an operating system just to play a game :( I think I might try installing Ubuntu bootcamp style and see if I can get EVE running with wine.

Open the Terminal, enter the commands: cd /Applications/EVE\ Online/Contents/MacOS/ ./cider This has happened to me a couple of times, haven't figured out a real fix other then trashing the client and reinstalling.

My experience with the client has been nothing short of excellent. Just because it isn't working for you doesn't mean it isn't working for everyone. CCP didn't just decide to not include the premium graphics cause they felt like being mean to mac/...

Yes! It is playable - for some. It's not working for some people and working perfectly for others. Try the free trial to see if it works on your machine, and if it does great! If not, perhaps wait till the next patch.
